1605 is a record label run by UMEK and it recently dropped a four-track mixed artist release featuring high-energy techno tracks by Heerhorst, AKKI (DE), Dok & Martin and Luca Gaeta.
Anyone familiar with the record label already has a good idea of what to expect from 1605 releases and this is very much in line with its usual style.
All of the artists have featured on 1605 in the past and it’s Heerhorst who opens the EP in the style, who has also released on other imprints such as Codex and Octopus. Heerhorst’s “Deliver” is a mix of powerful synth lines and driving percussion with a stand-out vocal sample that adds to the intensity.
AKKI (DE) is a German artist with close ties to the Cosmic Boys as he’s collaborated on music with them in addition to being a regular feature of their record label Legend. AKKI (DE)’s “Balthazar” has a whopping synth line that fuses with a massive kick drum to make a hard-hitting track that’s full of energy.
Dok & Martin are a Spanish duo that have been a breakthrough talent of the last few years and become a regular feature of many leading techno labels. Dok & Martin’s “Want Your Love” has a warehouse party vibe with its old-school chords and diva-style vocal.
Luca Gaeta is an Italian artist who has also featured on Kraftek and AnalyticTrail. Luca Gaeta’s “Moonslide” closes out the release with its epic synth line that’s laced with euphoria in stark contrast to the track’s dark atmosphere.
