Based in Portugal, Groovement is a label that has featured music from the likes of Terrence Parker plus nd_baumecker, and along the way picked up DJ support from the likes of Tim Sweeney and Jacques Renault.
Next up on Groovement is an EP that sits somewhere between House and Deep Techno, from label boss Jorge Caiado. Along with being an established DJ in his local scene of Lisbon, he is also a record shop owner and a radio host. Previously he has featured music on other labels such as Inner Balance, Carpet & Snares Records and JD Records.
Jorge Caiado’s release has three alternative version of his original track “Cycles” which have each been produced by him. Finishing the release is a remix from the pioneering techno artist, plus Detroit legend Mike Huckaby.
Overall it’s a great EP with each of the tracks having its own individual mood and feeling, but all have a deep sound with ambient textures combined with warm analogue production.
We have been lucky enough to premiere the “Dub” mix, which has a murky aesthetic and stripped back percussion that gives the synths room to breathe and ripple across the track.
