New on Ray Okpara’s label AMA Recordings is a fantastic new release from Germany’s Alexis Cabrera titled the 21 EP, and we have been lucky enough to premiere the stunning title track “21”.
Also a regular collaborator with the likes of Guti and Barem, prior to this release Alexis Cabrera has also featured music on labels including Little Helpers, Raum…Musik, Bla Bla and Mindshake Records amongst others.
Alexis Cabrera has a stripped back and techy style with wonky basslines, rubbery synths and eccentric sound design. With jazzy rhythms, his shuffling percussion is the glue that binds the energetic groove of his tracks and “21” is a fine example of his distinctive style.
Sitting somewhere between Tech House and Minimal, the release is in a style similar to other artists such as Konrad Black, Javier Carballo, James Dexter and Archie Hamilton.
