Ukrainian label Eleatics Records drops a new EP from Acumen and accompanying his solo original is a remix from Dubspeeka who is a UK artist with a back catalogue including labels such as Drumcode, Last Night On Earth, Get Physical, Truesoul and his own imprint Skeleton.
Previous releases on Eleatics Records have featured the likes of Wally Lopez, Petar Dundov and Quivver, and we have been lucky enough to get an exclusive premiere of Dubspeeka’s remix from their new one.
Acumen’s original track titled “Exquisite Madness” has a throbbing bassline and stabbing vocal phrases contributing to the uplifting melody, and Dubspeeka’s rework has a darkened atmosphere with a stripped back sound.
Distinctly techno with a dub influence, the remix builds eerie tension with textured synths whilst the original’s vocal phrases become the focus and add to the intricacy that slowly unfolds as the track develops.
