3km Records is a label run by veteran American artist Stefan Weise who is also hosts the Blue Industries show on Proton Radio. Using the label as a main output for his own music Stefan Weise has also featured on other imprints such as Lucidflow, King Street, Wolf Trap and Frequenza.
The latest release also features a remix from Dutch stalwart Remy Unger aka DJ Remy who’s music can be found on Pig&Dan’s label Elevate along with his own imprint WAXBOX. Many will also recognise Remy from his closing sets Awakenings and appearances at other iconic events such as Timewarp.
With DJ support from the likes of Radio Slave, Reboot and Vince Watson this deep and techy release is chic house music with subtle elements of Techno. Both of the originals bring something different to the table with “Tesseract Funk” having a jacking groove plus vocal chants, and “Fractal Soul” has rattling lead synths filled with dubby vibes.
Remy Unger brings some epic melody to his melodic remix that’s rich in analogue warmth and strung out emotion that builds with intensity as his remix develops.
