Him Self Her - Nick Curly

Nick Curly is one of the most respected names in house music, and he recently dropped a new EP on 8Bit, which has been a main output for his music since the very early days of his career.

Having been involved in music for well over a decade, Nick Curly was originally famed for his percussive style with techy elements often focused on a rolling groove.

Over the years Nick Curly’s sound has developed and he has expressed the different sides of his broad taste in music along the way racking up releases on labels ranging from Tuesoul and Second State, to Saved and Crosstown Rebels.

His new release on 8Bit has a deep and sophisticated sound with eloquent synths and delicate melody. Both the tracks have a stripped back sound with clean cut production.

“Zero Love” has a focus on the percussion whilst the ethereal pads add ambient textures to the uplifting mood that builds with intensity as the track unfolds.

The second cut “Blahskiboo” gets techy with offbeat stabs adding jackin’ energy to the loopy structure which has captivating hypnotics at the heart of its dance floor focused sound.
