UMEK has been relentless with the releases on his label 1605, and hasn’t let the Covid outbreak slow down his schedule. Next up is the second solo EP on the label favourites Cosmic Boys who first made their debut on the imprint when collaborating on a track with UMEK.
That collaboration called “Evolution” hit the top of techno sales charts, and since then the Cosmic boys have become a core part of the 1605 roster.
Cosmic Boys have had a big year in 2020 with numerous other top selling tracks, including releases on their label “Legend” that has also featured tracks by the likes of Space 92 plus lots of others of equal note.
Anyone who has heard the music of UMEK can instantly recognise why he and the Cosmic Boys have gravitated together, as they both share the same style of larger than life techno, which brings together goliath sized productions and in your face synth lines.
2020 has been a rather strange year for many of us who have spent months in Covid lockdown, but thanks to the music of people like UMEK and the Cosmic Boys we have still been given a healthy dose of top-notch techno to keep us anticipating the reopening of clubs.
