Lōn are a new duo we just discovered through this EP release and judging by the original works on this new vinyl, we will be expecting plenty more ear-catching creations to appear in the coming months. Showing devotion to a serious and purist production style, they have a rich analogue sound that really resonates to an educated ear. Tracks like their “Fragile Movement” on Lewis Fautzi’s Faut Section label have cavernous atmosphere that could transport and hypnotise a club with ease.
“A Dead Body Falling” is as eerie as it is jovial and bursting with character. It’s fast-paced from the word go and its plucky riff and gritty effects are as alluring as they are entrancing. “Shape of My Drum” gets simply wild with warping effects, delicate squeaks and positions itself as a devastating club weapon.
Their newest EP on the relatively new Spanish outfit Arketip Discs also includes two mega reworks by the revered Reeko, alongside the magnetic Temudo who hails from Portugal.
Reeko’s remix is majestic and rough, completely changing the track and taking it to a whole new stratosphere of stimulating creativity. His exceptional music can be found on Ben Sims’ Theory, Shifted’s Avian, Exos’ Planet X and Oscar Mulero’s PoleGroup, as well as Mental Disorder, which he heads up himself.
Temudo could well be one of the most in demand producers in techno and luckily, he has a steady flow of exciting and avant-garde sound design ideas wrapped up in his racy records. His tracks have been released on Ben Klock’s Klockworks to Slam’s Soma and he is a jewel in the crown for any DJ seeking floor-working cuts with a unique edge.
