Linus Beatskip drops a dark and heavy techno track with industrial influences, and the release also has remixes by Mac Vaughn, Paul Prior and River 44.
Based in Sweden, Linus Beatskip has been showing his consistency with regular releases on his own label Beatskip Records, and this will be his final release of 2023. Ending the year in style, he sets the scene for 2024 with the earth-shaking groove of his new track “Subliminal Hypnosis.”
Subliminal Hypnosis is characterised by a vocal about hypnosis, and each of the remix artists also leave their mark on the release.
Mac Vaughn is an American artist who has a style similar to others like Space 92, and he works in a pulsating bassline and dynamic arpeggio, which intertwine with the upbeat energy of the fast-paced percussion.
Paul Prior is an Irish producer from Dublin whose past releases can be found on imprints including Carti Records and Catamount Records. His dark and stripped-back version chops up the original’s vocal to bolster the menacing sound of his breakbeat groove, which brings contrast to the 4/4 groove of the original.
River 44 also works in a broken kick drum pattern for the foundation of his atmospheric rework, which has an underground sound similar to the likes of Scuba. It’s an eerie version with dub techno influences, and a wonky bassline that’s cut by a booming kick drum.
