Sabo and his record label Sol Selectas have just released the ninth edition of the Summer Sol compilation they put out each year.
The release marks the day of the Summer Solstice and is a celebration of the sun. It includes 25 tracks spanning between organic house and Afro house, and DJs supporting the release range from John Digweed to Djuma Soundsystem.
The music on this release has roots in 17 different countries, and embraces the concept of: “Collecting tracks from around the world, Summer Sol’s concept celebrates diversity, as regardless of race, religion or gender, we are all equal under the light of the sun.”
Lots of the artists on this release are making their Sol Selectas debut, but most of the artists have already worked with other noteworthy imprints including the likes of A Tribe Called Kotori, 3000 Grad, Cosmic Awakenings, Baikal Nomads, Pipe & Pochet, Akbal Music, Mobilee and Global Underground.
There is also music from Sol Selectas regulars such as Sabo, Derun, Guy Maayan, and Desert Dwellers.
Variety and diversity run through the different tracks on this release, but they are predominantly linked by their use of flowing organic percussion, deep atmosphere, and traditional instruments or vocals with links to different cultures.
