Him Self Her - Many Reasons

Whether you were a fan of the Minimal Techno genre or not in 2007 and the following few years, it was hard to be a fan of electronic music and escape the genre. Artists like Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano and Dubfire where arguably at the peak of their career, ruling the Ibiza summer season even more than they do now.

One of the artists popular during this period of time where an Italian duo called MiniCoolBoyz, who could do no wrong with releases on all the hyped labels ranging from Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records to Dubfire’s SCI+TEC.

In recent years it seemed to me that MiniCoolBoyz had gone quiet, but I was pleasantly surprised when reading the press release for the next Intec Digital promo where I discovered they had been active under a different alias.

Many Reasons releases can be found on Techno on labels including Sian’s Octopus, Sasha Carassi’s Phobiq and many others of a similar calibre. The latest Aspects EP appears on the distinguished label ran by Carl Cox with Jon Rundell and has a quirky blend of contrasting sounds that I remember from their formative years, but with a ridged Techno foundation, and some quality melodic synth work.

Club focused, the new Many Reasons release is definitely worth bagging if you are looking for something to bring a DJ set to life.
