Him Self Her - Kamara

Three tracks of techno goodness is just one of the ways to describe the debut release on Metamorphosa from label owners Kamara.

Metamorphosa is a club brand from Holland and the namesake label is an extension of the event with a music policy true to its bookings policy.

Alongside the two originals titled “Dragonfly” and “Snake Charmer” there is also a remix from Drumcomplex who along with many others is a regular on labels including Carl Cox’s Intec and Andre Crom’s OFF Recordings.

Along with running their own events and label Kamara have for many years produced music, whilst previously featured on Christian Smith’s Tronic and Uto Karem’s Agile Recordings.

The style of this release is dark and atmospheric with a focus on setting a mood alongside with delivering the energy required for impact on the dance floor. Although undeniably techno, there is a minimal influence to the crisp and spacious style of both the originals.

Dragonfly has a spooky melody and wonky vocal before the bass hits hard in the breakdown, and Snake Charmer is a little more percussive. Drumcomplex reworks Dragonfly keeping the originals deep techno vibe, but works in some of the elements true to his peak time style to toughen up the hypnotic remix.
