Milam is at the forefront of the Asian melodic house scene, and he shows off his organic house side with a two-track release on Sol Selectas.
Al Gaib has two tracks by Milam that have uplifting melodies and deep atmosphere carried forth by shuffling percussion. It’s his debut release on Sol Selectas, following music on other labels ranging from • kosa • to his own imprint Nodes Rec.
In a statement about the release, Milam said: “I wanted to make very deep and emotional tracks contrary to what is popular these days. I want to help people feel deeply again.”
There is also an indie dance remix by Akira Arasawa who’s a Japanese artist boasting a catalogue that includes music on the likes of Akbal Music and Shango Records.
The opening cut, “Mt Fuji Is a Pyramid” is a majestic track fusing Middle Eastern pads with an acid bassline and angelic vocal tones. Akira Arasawa’s remix of the title track adds a new bassline and streamlines the percussion to create a truly melodic version.
“Al Gaib” is the second original track, and it’s a percussive cut that has churning melodies stretched over intricate drums.
