Davide Squillace‘s label This And That is a label with a diverse sound, which has featured original music from the likes of Yousef, Basti Grub, AFFKT, Re.You, Carlo Lio and Doorly.
The latest release on This And That Lab is a four track EP from Italian duo Alfa Romero, who along with a recent release on Dubfire’s imprint SCI+TEC, have also featured classic releases on labels such as Audiofly’s Supernature and Dan Ghenacia’s Freak N Chic.
Titled One In A Million, this release is a fusion of melodic synths, quirky melodies and shuffling rhythms. With warm tones and a throbbing bassline, “Gemini” opens the release with its epic sound, and building on that vibe the intensity builds with cinematic suspense with each of the following tracks, until winding things down with the final track “Cosmopolitan“.
This enigmatic EP has a distinctive sound where combined, the tracks tell a dancefloor focused story with a beginning, middle and end.
