Julien Earle is an American techno artist who first rose to fame via his production tips YouTube channel that has helped inspire and develop up-and-coming producers across the world.
Showing that his production videos give people the skills to create high-quality tracks, his own music has been released by some of the world’s most respected techno record labels ranging from UMEK’s 1605 to Pleasurekraft’s Kraftek.
He also set up his own record label called r3flection which has become a regular outlet for his own tracks and allows him to experiment without restriction.
‘Daydream’ is the latest release on r3flection and alongside Julien Earle’s original track, it also features a fast and furious remix from hard techno artist UNFORG1VEN, who people might recognise from his releases on the likes of Dolma Records.
Opening the release is the original mix of “Daydream”, which is a peak-time track with a hard-hitting kick drum and held synth chords that build suspense as it leads towards the epic breakdown section. The twisted synths, grinding bassline and mesmerising vocals create an epic breakdown that overflows into the track after the percussion slams back in.
UNFORG1VEN’s remix is not for the faint-hearted as it’s an explosive rework that lists the tempo above 140 BPM. Although it might not be to everyone’s taste, those who enjoy hard techno should be very impressed with the raw sound design and punishing energy that it unleashes.
Both tracks are excellent examples of innovation within their genre, and you can buy a copy HERE
