yofellas continue their voyage into techno with their two-part release titled All About.
Split into two halves with each containing two tracks, All About is out now via Clif Jack’s record label MJA the Vision, which has become a regular outlet for yofellas’ recent music.
Having first made a name for themselves as house music producers, yofellas have moved focus to techno, but have maintained their same Grammy nominated production standards.
Their house track, “Lost on You” was a national Top 10 hit in the UK, and their techno tracks have the same understanding of how to engage an underground dance floor, without alienating mainstream listeners.
The title track “All About” features on Part 1 of the release as the opening cut, and it’s got dark atmosphere created by dramatic sounds that spring forth to deliver an intense vibe. “No Matter” is next up on Part 1, and like its predecessor it has pounding drums, but is defined by euphoric pads and the emotional vocal of the breakdown.
Part 2 is led by “U Me 2” which has funky offbeat stabs and a churning bassline forming a foundation for warped vocals. “Yes But Not” is an epic techno track that has breakdowns marked by ethereal pads, and the main groove is powered by hammering drums.
