Nino Blink

Nino Blink catches our attention with the hypnotic grooves of his new techno release, Headquarters. The package includes two magnificent original tracks, plus remixes by Javier Ferreira and MRDIE.

Living in Singapore, Nino Blink is a Scottish native who first made waves in Glasgow, where he was resident DJ at the BLINK parties held in Club 69. He now plays regularly in Singapore and its surrounding areas.

This new release is out on Moog Conspiracy’s Elektrotribe, and it’s an expertly produced release, showcasing Nino Blink’s decades long career releasing music. It’s his first time working with Elektrotribe, adding to his production catalogue that also includes other imprints such as Gain and Lowlita.

“Headquarters” is a pounding track with a modulating melody loop and rhythmic vocal stabs. “MDLR” is the second original, and it follows a similar formula to its predecessor, but it’s slightly more stripped back with an added focus on atmosphere.

Javier Ferreira delivers a breakbeat remix of “Headquarters” with booming bass and timeless drum patterns.

MRDIE who is known for his music on the likes of Richie Hawtin’s M-nus, reworks “MDLR” with a new melody and squelching bass stabs.
