Boom Merchant’s new single Vandalist is a gritty techno track with a jackin’ groove, and it’s accompanied by two remixes. One of the remixes is an alternate version by Boom Merchant, and the second is by Moog Conspiracy.
“Vandalist” has a booming kick drum and swirling percussion underlining hardcore/rave vocals, and the breakdown introduces deep chords. It’s very much a trademark Boom Merchant track, and it’s hot on the heels of his recent outing on Simina Grigoriu’s Kuukou.
The release also includes Boom Merchant’s ‘BM’s Dark Drums’ version, which thickens the drums and removes the breakdown’s deep pads.
Moog Conspiracy provides the other remix, and he stretches the original’s breakdown pads over the main percussive groove, while also stripping back the percussion to its core elements. His hypnotic version is in line with the music he has released via his own imprint, Elektrotribe Records.
